St. Luke's, Effingham County, began services on March 30, 2003 under the spiritual leadership of Rev. Dr. Robert LeFavi.  For over a year, St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church generously offered the use of their sanctuary as a place of worship for the congregation of St. Luke's.

On April 1, 2004, ground was broken for the construction of our current church on Goshen Road on land donated by Gibson Huger in honor of his mother Alice Beekman Huger.  The following year, construction was completed for the Ashley Center, a multi-purpose building behind the sanctuary with a social hall and three Sunday School rooms.

St. Luke's began with a vision of offering spiritual seekers in Effingham County a safe place to come, ask questions, and find out more about building a relationship with God in the context of traditional Christian worship, community service experiences, and fellowship.  We welcome everyone to come join in and see how much the spirit of God is visible in our church family!!
